I've recently been thinking about my flying days, and all the good memories that go with it. This is me in Ralph Grella's Citabria, flying with Art. The day this was taken, I did my first (and only) unassisted landing. Right before we took off, I got stuck in a "slow motion ground loop" because I kept my left heel on the brake too long. So there I was in all my glory, tooling around in circles on a 4,000 foot runway. Embarrassing at the time, but it made Art laugh really hard. As a matter of fact, he was laughing before I realized I was stuck in a left turn.
